Today we’re celebrating the big 5-0 for our fearless leader, Mr. Gatz! 🎉. Half a century of leadership, dad jokes, and reminding everyone to “walk in the halls!” He’s proof that age is just a number-especially when you spend your days surrounded by kids who keep you young at heart!

First grade is learning about light and shadows, so this week we took learning outside for science! We paired up with friends from the other first grade room to trace each other’s shadows using chalk on a sunny day. We talked about how we couldn’t go outside on a cloudy day because we need light for a shadow to occur. The kids even got to trace their teachers shadow! 👤

👁️ Our 4th Grade scientists in Mrs. Lyson's Class explored the mystery, "What do blind people see?" Diving into the amazing parts of the eye: cornea lens, retina, iris and pupil. We discovered how these components work together to create vision and what happens when they don't.
Each student crafted their own eye model. Quite the eye catching activity! 👀

Ms. Cohen’s class had a blast bringing math to life today! 🍎🍇🍍 To wrap up their math unit, students designed three unique fruit kabobs — each with 10 pieces of fruit with at least three different types of fruit on each AND no two kabobs could be alike. Then, students chose their favorite kabob and made them in real life! A delicious and fun way to celebrate making 10! 🍎🍇🍍🍓🍉🍌
