Decomposing turkeys! 🦃 Mrs. Tinkoff's class had a blast making turkeys to five! They started by shaking and spilling red and yellow counters, then used them to fill their five frames. Next, they built their way to make five using turkey feathers, and created the cutest little turkeys to show off their hard work. It was a fun and creative way to practice their math skills while celebrating the season! 🍂

First grade math in action! This week, students designed and planned three different kebabs, each featuring 10 pieces of fruit. To make it more interesting, no two kebabs could be the same, and each had to include at least three different types of fruit. After creating their designs, the students chose their favorite kebab to make and eat today. It was a delicious way to apply math skills! 🍓🍊🍍

It was a fun week in Mrs. Marotta's first grade class! They went on a "trip" to the United Kingdom during ELA. On the plane they made passports, had a popcorn snack, watched a video on the U.K. and read a story, "A Trip to the U.K." They had fun using mirrors to watch their mouth formation when saying short vowel sounds. They also enjoyed buddy reading their story! ✈️
